We know one important thing for sure concerning Kegs Canalside - they built their Concert Hall well with a strong foundation, because it was still intact after Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne and Larry McCray stormed into Jordan, NY and played to a full house at Kegs - Kegs First Annual Blues Fest in Jordan, NY. This trio of music masters was backed by 2 other masters Chip Vayenas on Drums and Corey Duplechin on bass.
You have to hand it to Kegs for coming up with a show like this for their first ever "Blues Fest" because these guys shook the building for over 2 hrs, played their hearts and souls out, and played rocking blues to the moon and back in perfect fashion.
Larry McCray, who is one of the top blues singers, songwriters, and guitar players in the business, opened the show with an acoustic set, showing his ability to entertain solo, opening with a great tune - "Arkansas". Following his set, Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne and the band came out and played hard-driving rocking blues the likes of which I haven't heard in a long time. The crowd loved the music, the stage presence, and stayed engaged till the very end. Larry McCray joined the guys at the end, playing some serious leads for the final tune of the night. If Kegs can equal or top this show, their Annual Blues Fest is a huge success. I look forward to next year ... #2 !
