Carolyn Wonderland performed at the 443 Social Club and Lounge Syracuse to an intimate Sold Out house in Syracuse on 4/20/2023. The night started with music performed by Colin Aberdeen, multiple SAMMY award-winning artist and Max Eyle, know as Colin and Max. The duo performed a few songs before an appreciative audience, as usual, before giving up the stage to Carolyn Wonderland and her band. The 443 Club is a gathering place, feeling more like a large family gathering in a large living space. That nights family spent a couple of hours close and personal listening to one of the top performing female musical artists in the World, Carolyn Wonderland and her band. Carolyn's current touring band consists of Shelly King, vocals and acoustic, Naj Conklin on bass, and Giovanni “Nooch” Cappuccino on drums.
The first time I saw Carolyn Wonderland perform was in 2014 at the "Taste of Syracuse". I was presently surprised what I listening to and seeing, a talented musician belting out soulful, raspy vocals and playing a mean guitar with an awesome back up band. I was hooked. Fast forward to 2023, and once again amazed at the music she writes and plays. Favorites of the night included Fragile Peace And Certain War, and Loser (Robert Hunter / Jerry Garcia). The band is A+ prime, and in between songs, it was Carolyn's story telling time. Carolyn shared all sorts of life experience that the gathering surely related to and enjoyed hearing, with lots and lots of laughter. What more could you ask for from a performer? If you missed this one, Carolyn promised to be back, so keep your ears and eyes open. Do not miss the next show. Be sure to get your tickets early, because I guarantee the next show will be sold out fast. (Reviewed & Photographed by: C Schilling. Click HERE to see more of the images from the show.
